"Pirates of the Caribbean 4" Mermaid Concept Art Revealed

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we now have the first concept art of Syrena, a mermaid from "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," which is played by French-Spanish actress Astrid Berges-Frisbey (pictured). "They're gorgeous, sexy, and vicious," producer Jerry Bruckheimer said of the mermaids in the film.

The concept art shows what Syrena looks like in water. On land, she looks like the actress who plays her. In the movie Syrena agrees to help Captain Jack Sparrow in his search for the fountain of youth. As time goes on, their relationship becomes less than friendly. Check out the photos below.

Directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago), the fourth installment is scheduled to hit 2D and 3D theaters on May 20th, 2011.

Yep. You heard it right folks. Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley won't be part of the upcoming 4th sequel of Pirates of the Caribbean. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed that Actress Penelope Cruz would be on board for the movie Pirates of the Caribbean On Strangers Tides.

Penelope Cruz is playing the role of Blackbeard's Daughter. I'm not so sure that Penelope Cruz alone can compensate the lost of the two --- but it is Johnny Depp whom everyone wants to see. Captain Jack Sparrow will definitely love a latina beauty like Ms. Cruz. :)
